Im dumb with pcs, but I think I had this same happening to me long time ago because did not have a security certificate, someone (I guess Borka) pointed me to it and I downloaded from somewhere in this forum?. Ofc it can be a completely different thing, but if nothing else works maybe worth a try.

Java Security Settings instructions with images:

Certificates are in Ender already ( haven.jar -> \haven ) - you might unpack/extract it (i.e. with 7zip freeware), go to haven folder in it, look for authsrv.crt and ressrv.crt - install both by right clicking them and choose "Install Certificate" in drop down menu

You might edit run.bat in Ender with Notepad and put in a new line containing the word pause - that way the CMD window stays open to show possible errors

btw. i give a damn about "hidealot" W 8/8.1 - bought Licenses since DOS 5.0 - W7 Pro for sure was the last one :x

hello Debian :D

Thank you for the prompt response. While I have attempted to follow your advise, I would sooner create a fine silk purse from a sou's ear.
I have run across a "new" error; and this is very much thanks to the Pause line. Again thank you, I don't know why that had not occurred to me before.

" Windows cannot find 'javaw'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

I seem to recall seeing this somewhere else in this (as all forums are) Labyrinth of information.
This is of course using Enders client. The site client has not changed as I have yet to locate the "Java Control Panel."

Here is hoping that I remedy this before long.

How can I access the Java Control Panel in Windows 8?
Method 1:

Press Windows logo key + W to open the Search charm to search settings.
In the Search box type: Java Control Panel
Click on the Java Control Panel icon to open.

Method 2:

Drag the Mouse pointer to the Right bottom corner of the screen

Click on Control Panel.
In the Control Panel Search type: Java Control Panel
Click on the Java Control Panel to open.

http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/win8_faq.xml <- Read it !

I need more Informations - what Bit version of Ender and what Bit version of Java? Where is Java installed at C:\Program Files\Java\jre7 or c:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\ (64 or 32 Bit) ?

You might try with editing the run.bat in Ender and change javaw.exe to java.exe
