How are you being harmed by people taking clay?

You lose nothing!

The ability to sell it.
If you get knocked out but not killed you lose nothing more than you lose when you get attacked, why does one scent allow summoning while the other does not?

You loose the ability to sell it...

There we go! That is it!
In this you are correct!

Now, I ask you: do you pirate music?

Would you like to begin an argument about piracy? one that comes down to semantics and cannot be resolved in any way because of that?

No, I do not wish to argue piracy. My point was that your arguments against having people come onto your claim and take clay are in abstract the same as the position taken by IP companines.
Whether this is good or bad I don't know. I'm just saying you've got a similar position.

Delamore's position is completely legitimate. That's the basis for all land ownership in the world. Gaining legally recognized control over whatever it is you own. I'm confused as to why people think mines and clay deposits should be treated differently. If it was made so that high Q resource deposits could be claimed, it seems like there should be more of them, but I don't see how this would really change the game all that much. As it is, you just don't share the location of your resources if your smart.

So what's the point of even bringing this up?

For the lolz.

While I didn't say that Delamore's claims are illegitimate- on the contrary, I said they are similar to the position taken by multibillion dollar companies- his position is not the same as if the claim held lumber, a mine, or a farm. This is because, unlike those finite resources, the clay is infinite. This doesn't mean that 1: It's impossible or even unfair for him to make a profit off it, or 2: That people who take the clay aren't "harming" him. It just means that he's being harmed in a less direct way: he isn't loosing concrete resources, but potential resources in the form of people who might have bought it from him, assuming they where able to.

But our Blasphemous Bagel makes a good point- that point being that I'm not making a point. So, more pertinent to the discussion here, how should this sort of scenario be resolved?

I think that towns fighting one annother over resources is exellent. However, it is currently impossible for said resources to trade hands in any way. This needs at very least the ability for one town to dismantle the authority items of the other, and a way for the defending town to prevent that. Simple, right?
