uncheck
Condivisione file e stampanti per reti Microsoft
unless you don't have other computers connected to yours and want them to read your files or use your printer

the last one is just for showing a yellow triangle with exclamation mark when the lan connection isn't working proper (like in case of stripped cable or netplug of router)

there's nothing you can set which would help with your problems

router settings you normally get access to by browser - the adress differs by brand, model and provider

with browser i mean webbrowser (Chrome, Firefox, Pale Moon IE ...)

you need to put in the IP the Router uses inside your local network (Default gateway - Gateway predefinito) into adressbar
often it's 192.168.1.1 - it's opens the configuration software in your browser (prolly you'll need to know a passwort for access)

you can find out gateway ip with ipconfig in cmd window

open commend window, type

Code: Select all
cd..

again
Code: Select all
cd..

then
Code: Select all
cd windows

then
Code: Select all
cd system32

type
Code: Select all
ipconfig

and press enter

So i guess you'd better ask the one who admins the router - maybe even a router reset helps

I researched a bit and found out that the password for my router (it is a TP link wr541g 542g) should be admin but it doesnt work. They say i have to reset the router and the password will become admin again, but what happens when i reset it? Am i going to lose something?

Btw i even tried turning off the firewall but nothing

It resets to factory defaults - so all settings have to be made again ...

Who did the setup originally?
