It seems that any small changes were to be made, two of them has to be implemented at the same time to deal with two separate problems,
-The first having a way to limit the size of a village so that it doesn't encompass the entire world. My first thought is a slight logarithmic equation so that the larger the village, the more maintenance in authority it requires per authority object, nothing too absurd though but a discouragement. The counter to this is making alt villages though alt villages will be significantly weaker than fully developed villages and may not be able to remove personal claims.
- The second is to make it so that the authority to remove a personal claim is reduced by the following mean. This has been suggested before but someone had suggested the personal claim have authority with the same formula basis as village ones. To remove the claim, it pits the authority of the village vs the authority of the claim owner so that you can't just stick a claim, feed it LP to make it absurdly large and impossible to remove, you have to keep maintaining it in respect to the size of the claim. As a side effect, if the personal claim's authority is lower than 20%, it can be destroyed and will no longer have authority over the land which helps if people quit the game that their land can be reclaimed.
Note that the offline feature of the curiosity system makes it rather easy to gain authority. Unfortunately I haven't figured out an easily solution with this yet with the possible exception that curiosity ticks off at a dramatically reduced rate when offline. The ideas are still rough around the edges and can be smoothed out.
Sadly all I have are ideas and may not be implemented as the developers seems to be putting most of their effort in the new Haven.
