My character was forced to spawn in here, is there a way of getting out? -_-

The idol of Dernholm (which was a grief to the little settlement where it was placed) is history now.
In case the charterstone is destroyable it is likely that it'll vanish too in the not-so-distant future.

Try to right-click the charterstone.

And the game itself in a general sense. As Jackard and Sabinati posted, there are some improvements that would further counter the stupid immature greifing that is allowed to exist here. The deleting objects with use of authority would go far in helping the situation. I think one of the best defenses against both greifing itself and attracting griefer types to the game is to make it pointless, easily fixed and not so attractive to them.

Palisades around starting locations

Postby keyn_thror » Wed Apr 14, 2010 7:09 am

Hello!

I have created my first character, and chose to appear in an offered location (can't remember the name).
My character was teleported to that location charterstone, but it was completely surrounded by a wooden palisade, and there is no exit anywhere.

So basically I am stuck there with several other newbies.
Can't leave the place, can't make food or train skills...

This is somewhat frustrating, you know.

Yes, I have created another character and continued playing in some lost forest...
But I think blocking starting locations is not good for this game, it annoys new players and basically scares them off from playing this game.

All starting locations like you call them are player made and player abused...

a man need only strike another to make him evil."

Some people had the bright idea of building charter stones just to spread village influence...

So, basically, there is no chance anyone can leave that area without permission of that territory claim holders?

As far as I heard, palisade walls can be destroyed only by battering rams, is that so?
Yesterday we (me and two other newbies) tried to break a palisade by using "Destroy" ability on the wall.
We had a stone axe, but it didn't give any real results.

Yeah, I think it was that place.

I absolutely understand that this project is still in alpha-development.

It can be easily fixed by allowing young characters (1-2 days old may be) to return to the character creation room by using the Charter stone in the town, where they appeared.
This way no game mechanics will be abused, and new players will have a way to get out of palisade trapped towns.

I guess you refer to Dernholm (which is ontop of the list).

The Idol of it was placed into a settlement by outside players who tried to blackmail the inhabitants, claims were removed, stuff was stolen and destroyed.

The charterstone was added shortly after. Since idols were indestructible at that time the temporary solution was to fence them in so they were unable to spread their influence further to grab the mine. Thankfully the new village authority system gave other options to deal with that, the idol is already destroyed, the charterstone will follow in the near future.
