Nope the boat didnt take any damage. If so i'd have been killed sooner because my hp was low.The deer didnt hit us.Nor the boat.

Objects decay over time. It's possible it was this decay that destroyed the boat. It doesn't need to take damage to be destroyed by decay.
What colour was your boat? if it was quite a red colour, then likely it just decayed and was in need of repair.

If it was a brand-new shiny orangey boat, then it does sound like a bug.

If you start destroying a boat, you can keep destroying it telekinetically even if it moves away. My guess is that the boat was too close to shore at the start of the encounter and one of the deer managed to start whacking.

That doesn't work with animals, I remember one time when a boar started whacking my boat which was in mint condition, but it stopped taking damage when I moved away from the shore.

the boat wasnt close to the shore , it was in the middle of the stream and the color was just normal cause the boat was new.It was orange not red.

So is there anything that can be done to recover our characters?

Ninja update, Animals can now mind-destroy your boat from a distance.

If your boat breaks and you can't swim, you drown. Simple as that.

It's ironic; more people now think it's a bug that they drown when they DON'T have swimming rather than when they do.

Im going to go point out the obvious.

Your boat was damaged, you didnt notice it, went out without swimming, it broke, you drowned, the end.

Sorry, but this happens when you dont repair a boat before you leave, maybe you'll do it next time
