From Sevenless' guide:

"An option in the advanced menu puts big red warning circles around aggressive animals. Treat this as a warning sign, not an accurate aggro range. Keep them at the edge of your screen when possible for maximum safety."

So yeah, it is your fault afterall.

I have a question about deaths by animals.

What do you have to do to be killed by an animal?

Let me explain the question. From my hunting experience, which was mostly unsuccessful until recently, I was knocked out by boars and bears. Every time animals just knocked me out and walked away.

It's random. Sometimes they kill you and sometimes they don't. Nothing really indicates one way or the other as far as I've seen or heard. Every time you get knocked out you just hope that it decides not to finish you off.

First off I'd like to point out that the Red Radius enders draws around aggressive animals is NOT ans has NOTHING to do with the animals actual agro radius. it is just a variable he picked to make the red circle.

Second. If dev's gave a crap about people dieing to wild animals, animals wouldn't have murder ability.

Third. I kill people (summoned , afk , or other)...is that unfair to the people i kill?

They actually do quite clearly care about that -- enough so to have added the ability to murder players in for W4 and W5. Animals used to be entirely non-lethal.

I'm glad they changed that.

I accept FULL responsibility for being killed by my own idiotic actions, but being killed by server lag/game bug i take NO responsibility for. Please fully read posts before you jump in and post your rather ignorant comments =)

Contradictions.
Well, I'm sorry you feel that way but it seems that responsibility has chosen its course for you. Your options now are to reincarnate or to not. The devs are not going make an exception to the core of the game for you.

Do me a favor and READ THE POST. there are no contradictions. I'll try to say it more clearly for you. But this was most definately NOT my fault and feel it's just plain unfair <-- Yes I feel it is.

I haven't read the rest of the posts here, so what I'm about to say may be a repeat. If it is, let me just say I want to emphasize what was already said.

First, you can't say you take full responsiblity for your actions and then say that something else was at fault. By definition, that is not taking full responsibility. You could have done something different. As Spock would say: there are always options, whether you like the potential outcomes or not, they are still options. Therefore, even if the client/server lag is such that would cause you're death, you could have made many choices before the fact of your death that would have prevented it. To finish here, I would just like to say it very welll could have been the servers fault, however...

Second, this game is considered in an open, playable alpha state. Anything that occurs is at the users risk. Many players, myself included, have died due to server issues. We accept this risk because we're here to have fun and a shared experience. One of the lessons I learned a long time ago is that the stats don't make as much difference as the quality of gear you can get. As long as you can recover you're high quality gear and have a well-established settlement, you can recover from any death very quickly. At least you don't have to start over from nothing like in some perma-death games.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

That was because of an account being hacked and there being clear evidence via server logs as well as a confession from the perpetrator.

I don't remember this, but I remember two. World 2, when wayneville heard their character's were being reduced and equipment too, and killed some people, who were revived. There was also this one case for someone from Ursa Major named Bear, who lived in a HV south of his town. Jorb thought the HV was impenetrable, so he destroyed the HV, killed bear, and made the pavement + Water change. He later figured out the HV was penetrable and revived him, but I think he quit.

Hermedicus got revived because when prospecting was introduced your toon used to autowalk up to the spot of the minehole when you were on the same screen and slammed down the sign automatically. Unfortunately mineholes could also be on a rive or lake. So hermedicus toon just walked straight into the river (without swimming turned on) to slam down the construction sign on the bottom of the waters :P

@OP: Lol, deal with it.
