Acutally yes, they can destroy the signpost. What they cannot do is hearth a chief alt inside that can summon players inside after the walls are finished. Besides, It would be far cheaper to do it with cabins and more effective because you coudl run the wall more than a mere 16 tiles.

The difference is that cabins will get deleted hurr.

Why should cabins be deleted? It's not any different than the terrain walls. Someone can still get inside.

Yes but that's a complete block. Not the same as lining up cabins and making a hundred or two tile long brick wall entrance.

Why are you so upset about this, Chak?

It's too much for you to handle?

No, If I had a scent and wanted in I'm more than capable of doing so with a char that has 400str and counting. Furthermore, It's not as if I couldn't do the same thing.

It is however, far too lacking in aesthetic appeal for it to be as effective as it is. As in, it is the cheapest bang for your buck defense. IOW, My objection is purely an aesthetic concern.

What's wrong with how it looks? :(

I think it's perfectly fine. And, to be honest, I don't see any type of exploiting/abusing here.

no you see, clever planning is just like exploiting because

(exploiting is someone taking advantage of a bug, not doing something you dislike. surprise!)

What exactly is it exploiting?

It is "exploiting" (...) the small paths on mountains. Instead of just breaking one piece of a wall to get into a town, here you have to smash all the pieces of said wall. The effort to build this wall is also way smaller than building an actual 20 layer brickwall around your town.
