I've meant it as a joke and I aplogize if that was unclear. Nevertheless I know what you mean and how broken claiming the entire underdark is.

Big factions still has a lot of usage of extra resource nodes as the top one will be devoted for quality growth while the lower ones will be used for miscellaneous and curiosity materials. This is not even taking into account that curiosities spawned take whatever quality that the node is spawned upon making it even more contested even if you have 5 other nodes of the same type.

One thing that concerns me is this. No matter what anyone does, there will always be exploitable loopholes, bugs, and mechanic abuses. It's not the question of if there are any potential bugs and abuses (there will) but is there a mean to deter abuse of them when they are discovered. The whole abuse didn't start at world 6, it started at world 2 (potentially world 1 but I wasn't around) with the entire bug wood. If that wasn't punished, even if it was taken away, what would stop them from finding another and milking it for all its worth, staying ahead in the long run when the advantage is taken away.

This might be a tad bit problematic for the developers as they prefer not to be policing their game and they rather continue development (in which from their standpoint I agree). I hope there is a plan to make said users suffer some "unfortunate" fate (been abusing a bug to gain massive LP? Ops, next day you find yourself with -6 billion LP and skills because you "broke" your character) because they tampered with something beyond their understanding. It's really up in the air on how this is done and I do not have any concrete ideas on details on how to do this.

I think the opposite. The issue is that they only make changes and refuse to follow up on tweaks. It might be much for for a free to play game, but a man can wish. If only they had the energy to give haven just a bit more attention before its plugged. I don't have a clue how much work it would be to tweak the game a bit and roughen out the edges but there are about 5-6 game mechanics and abuses that are basically super critical. All witch could be fixed in less then a day of coding. Sadly only loftar have access to the code so we all wish he could throw us a bone.

Game is still free to play and no demands are given of course, only kind requests.

It is a tricky situation.

On the one hand, pc claims are one of the very few defenses (or dissuassion mechanics) hermits and non-aligned players have. Making them easy to destroy by major villages will just make the game more unfun for them.

On the other hand, it's easy to abuse it. Can't we have some very expensive solution to this? Like the ability to build a specific item next to the stake, costing 30 gold bars or something, that would dissolve the claim once completed?

One would still need to raid and bash walls to get to the stake, and would have to actually spend all those resources to destroy it. I'm sure hermits and noobs would still be safe since almost no one is willing to waste so much gold just for griefing. But major villagers would still have a way to get the nodes they want from other developed players and issues like the OP's wouldn't happen.

just for the possibility of comparison:

30 Gold Bars would be 300 pearls ... (given an average price of 50pts per Gold Nugget)

while there was an offer of just 1000 pearls alone for a high q clay claim ...

and the situation get's even trickier considering scripting coming into the game ...

Point stands though. A compromise must be made where fixes for crippling late world stuff don't ruin the game of the little people. A couple dozen gold bars to declaim each stake seems reasonable, I think, even if they're botted.

Hermit player should not be able to defend against 15 people trying to attack or ram him. If he is able to, it just means that the mechancis are broken.

W7 - Emerald City
W6 - Gomorrah
W5 - Pandemonium
W4 - Angkor

.... What the hell?
Just make the stake bashable to anyone with certain str (possibly the same as palis), so that it would have to be defended in a bwall at least, and as soon as the bwall is taken, it can be bashed.
No need for gold bars to declaim a plcaim that costed a few bones and some dreams.

I agree. The logistics of getting 15 people online to bash a stake is pretty hard and could not be done anytime. But if strength is the only limitation to bash it, it's too easy and /that's/ the problem, every average griefer would wander the world destroying claims. The issue is keeping the little dissuasion that pc claims currently offers while allowing developed players to remove any claim if they want to.

Instead of expensive materials, I think it'd be even better if it could only be bashed by 9 people at the same time, kinda similar to village founding interface, if there were a way to prevent the use of alts to circumvent that. Or maybe just reduce the village auth:pc claim ratio so that we can remove it with current mechanics.

Also, jesus, you can't destroy a dream:)

Add more complications on top of the situation. Village claim covering the stake and a ram needed to remove it as well. It just must be removable somehow. 250 auth /tile : 10LP / tile leads to abuse and clearly isn't balanced.
