Smacks of an exploit to me

The worst monsters in the Hearthlands warp the fabric of space and time..

The only thing exploity about this is the players ability to teleport in and out from an inaccessible location. Change fast travelling so that travelling to a location fully enclosed by walls is not possible (i.e. if there is no way to path a route in).

The effort to build this wall is also way smaller than building an actual 20 layer brickwall around your town.

That's not even remotely an exploit, that's just common sense. Why do you think the traditional location to build a castle is on a hill\mountain.

If you have impassable terrain in the game, it's only smart to take advantage of it to minimise how many ways people can get into your area; the trade-off is that generally such areas must be small and thus you tend to be cramped, which usually means less resources.

Now you think again why I put the "exploit" in quotation marks. I don't consider this an exploit either, although there should be better game mechanics to build your fortress on a mountain.

Actually what you really need is a means by which one can climb cliffs.

To be fair I think it points out an issue with the crossroads.

How so? Whats the difference? Could as well make a crossroad in wayneville and keep the signs there. Its still 10% tw.
Thinking about it, this would be even easier than it is now.

Yeah, but notice how your compound lacks a front door, yet you magically get in there.

We jump down the cliff.
I guess i misunderstood you then. I thought you mean that crossroads shouldnt be connected within the same village to prevent them being only used for short distances.

I don't see why would anyone ever build a gate, they're just a security risk and a waste of resources.
