Most of the smaller groups I know do set up local trading between their neighbours but there comes a point you need the higher tier goods that the factions produce in order to advance your own, once trading routes are known ofc they will be camped by the opposition and other players who play that way, in fact I think it will encourage that style of play. There is no doubt that will be exciting and give lots of forum drama but how it will affect the turn over of players is a different matter.
And, yes, @ Teck, benefits already come to those that have more time in game and larger groups that have more hands on deck, as it should be, but do we really need to completely eliminate small groups and hermits, which is what I foresee. How exciting and fun is the game going to be when everyone is pulled into one of the two factions?
