OS Requirements / Game Performance.

OK so i tried to freeze frame at boot but i could never catch it. i mean it litereally flashed and in the flash i couldnt even read anything. its way to sudden for my slow reflexes. But now im kinda concerned on how i run haven in linux can u link me to a spot or somthing i couldnt find it. i just did a new install/setup of Wary Puppy 5.5 beside my windows xp 32bit lol so ima see if my pc is faster in puppy just for kicks.

I'm finally trying to step into Linux after the long tearing years of microsoft. Been fun tho lol

Linux x86 jre-7u71-linux-i586.tar.gz (u71 is recommend not u72)

in console

mkdir -p /mnt/home/dir/usr/local/java

open jre-7u71-linux-i586.tar.gz and extract to /mnt/home/dir/usr/local/java

now you should be able to play the default client (which downloads Linux jogl and gluegen libaries)

wow linux is so lazy compared to windows it wont do anything for u lol i cant figure any of this out. took me a hour to change the dang time for me to get on the internet but i had internet within 30min of install -__- so what is the console thing suppost to do? i typed in but nothing happend....
i cant figure out how to run the client. do i gotta run java first or wat?


just realised that console command makes the dir XD i did it all manually ahahahahah

If you look at different distributions you'll see there are some that go on par with "windows" lazyness like Ubuntu but also lots that are favoured by *nixers as you can rule everything by yourself (like puppy) - if you want to try a different with more lazyness check Mint with Mate http://mirror.jmu.edu/pub/linuxmint/ima ... bit-rc.iso

trying to download and play the game but keeps takeing me to open with option what is the problem I cant down load it

You need to have an uptodate java (jre7u71) installed, you need to have jave enabled for browser in java control panel (not in browser settings) to get the option:
"Open with Java Web Start Launcher" to start the process

otherwise you can open the saved autohaven.jnlp with javaws.exe (i.e. C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaws.exe on a 64Bit Windows with 64 Bit Java)

WebStartLauncher opens up Java, downloads the rest of needed files and then starts default client

Ok, just a random late update lol

I've overclocked the tualatin 1.3 to 1.48ghz just for kicks,all original cooling so no more cuz is gets blue screened and further
than than it wont boot im thinking ram cuz it clocks everything together
also overclocked the cas/latency of my 133 ram stick if it goes theres another in there already

but for the main part smooth as silk/butter
may look more into linux another time leaning towards my new pc right now so yah
