Boar doesn't follow me after Quelling it

So, I was attempting to tame a boar, and I successfully quelled it, but it didn't follow me and continued to walk around as if nothing happened. Is this normal?

You must keep doing it, stand next to it, wait til it aggros you and repeat. You will know when it's been tamed. ;)
