All my stuff gone to server "Maintenance"

You've done it again. Last time it was bearable.
Last time you took the server down for some "Maintenance" as you put it, everything on the map jumped back about a day. Meaning anything built after then was lost. That was bearable, as most of people's valuable stuff was safely in their inventories.

This time, however, it seems you decided to do it the other way around for a lark. Once again, you took down the server with little to no warning, barely giving me seconds to stuff all my valuable stuff into my inventory before it came down.
But upon logging in, I firstly notice my "Where I was before" spawn spawns me somewhere in the middle of some forest. One I was in earlier bear hunting, if I recall. When I log in to my hearth fire I look into my inventory.
All my valuables, all the very important stuff to me, was gone. When I stuffed it all into my inventory from my chest to prevent loss from a map wipe, it was lost alongside a lot of my other stuff in my inventory.
I'd like a refund; namely, the 8 slabs of bear meat and the 8 bars of wrought iron I had. Thankfully, my other stuff was still there as it has been for the past two or three days.

This problem also happened on my character, and as I was about to log out, the game stopped responding, as the server had come down, this resulted in me losing around 2 hours of the work on my character, including all of my equipment, learning points and many other items just in my inventory. I'd also like a refund. I also had a number of items on the floor, but losing those items is understandable, however losing what was on my character is not.

Whenever maintenance is declared, immediately save your character. I did this by habit, even though I thought they'd fixed the no-save-on-controlled-shutdown problem. Net result - I came back to a half hour earlier location, with things in my inventory which I'd harvested in that half hour - and those things still growing and ready to harvest. I also have the LP from the work I did, even though most of the work is lost.

To save your character, click "buy" on the skill buying screen, even without spending any LP.

And yes, if they continue to do controlled shutdowns the way they did the latest one, you will be able to intentionally duplicate an inventory worth of valuable items - provided you move fast enough, and save after getting them into your inventory.

And for god's sake give some notice before a shutdown.
Say, an hour. Half an hour. Then revert back to that time.
Warn them beforehand. "In 15 minutes the server will be saved, all progress beyond that time will be lost during a server restart".
"In 5 minutes the server will be saved..."
"Server saved, restart will take place in 15 minutes. All progress from now will be lost."

OR take the game down for players, save it, then do maintenance and restart it. I'd rather have a long wait and keep all my progress than lose an hour/two hour's work.

The devs have said time and time again, that they will not refund anything lost to glitches, nor will they take anything away that's gained by such things. That's their position, and you can take it or leave it.

That said, I am curious as to what happened to everything saving on a controlled shutdown. Those seemed to be safer, for a short time at least, than crashes.

The chances of that pretty much approach 0%. Like I said in the last post, the devs official position is that the server giveth and the server taketh away.

Yeah, fuck that.
I worked hard for that stuff. Killing a bear is no walk in the park. I'm just asking for them to get them back for me. I know they can do it, and I know it's not hard. They're the ones who lost it by taking the server down without warning and reverting it back to an older save. I want them to realise what they did was retarded, and I want them to realise that it's their fault I lost my stuff, and, therefore, they should give it back to me.
