Better Bug Tracker?

It seems as though we would be better off posting bugs with a tool designed for the job instead of using the forum, it wasn't really made with this in mind.

something like http://www.mantisbt.org/

Shouldn't the posted in the C&I forum?

But uh, I don't see any too big of an issue with the way it is now. Especially since it seems most people mention very similar bugs over and over again, anyways. Of course, I really can't give an 100% input as I don't click random links of which I am unfamiliar with and you didn't really explain exactly what the link links to, soooo.

Take a look at the demo. Of course, if you don't understand the problem, why are you replying? Do you enjoy being white noise?

The forum is disorganized, cluttered, inefficient, amateurish. A proper bug tracker has a change log, is easily searchable and clearly displays such things as issue priority, severity, status, etc.

This isn't going to stop the forum from being amateurish, and people are still going to bitch about their problems on the forums, it'll just make more people shout endlessly at them, CHK TEH BUG 'PORT FKN NUB!

It will however make things easier to identify from a support standpoint. We also wouldn't have to deal with 50,000 posts about crashing game clients, and the game not working if ppl could compare their technical info to a database of known issues and their solutions.

Fact of the matter is, amateurs are too lazy to check back into the previous posts. This would help alot, I still approve.

you misunderstand, its amateurish for developers to rely on a forum for bug reports instead of a tool specifically designed for that task

also that is the only way the word makes sense in that context, hth!

Indeed, i did read it wrong.

As it stands though, the bugs forum is cluttered, maybe something could be done here, as to known bugs, and in the case of errors, their resolution?

Why intentionally make things difficult for yourself? It's a flawed system and 78 pages long.

Bug-Trackers are nice ... but, they also need to be actively used (when installed/implemented). If there is no direct need for them yet (for whatever reason). It will not add anything positive.

A forum is no really a good place for bug tracking ... but that don't mean its not useful for bug reporting/logging. (A by-users for-users know-bugs/artefact's list.)
(this would also counteract the "similar/same bug reports")

General problem is ... someone need to do the chore to keep the thing useful/updated. (same goos for bug-tracker of course.)
