Can't plant grass with flax seeds.

I'm trying to cover up a bit of bad plowing, and it said it needed seeds to plant grass.
So, I went out and filled my inventory with flax seeds and came back, and it's still not letting me plant grass. It said "any seeds" so I assume flax seeds are supposed to work.

I nearly died to foxes on my flax-gathering expedition, so this is highly vexing. :P
