I have verified that I do in fact have java 6 installed yet the game will not launch, can't figure out why, any ideas?

How, more specifically, will it "not launch"? Any error messages?

This is a Java Web Start file. If you are reading this text,
it most likely means that you have not installed Java, which
you will need to play Haven and Hearth. The easiest way to get
Java is probably to go to http://www.java.com/ and download
it.

It might also mean that you are just curious, in which case I
bid you to go ahead. 'Tis a good thing.

The above is the details of the launch failure, no other java application has ever had this problem, I have tried everything i could find on this website regarding the matter, and nothing works (even the nvidia settings)

There should be an "Exception" tab (and probably one or more "Wrapped Exception" tabs) on the dialog box.
