Where did the server go?

Postby sami1337 » Tue May 26, 2009 7:26 pm

I froze and when i tried to re-connect it could not connect to the server.

I also disconnected a couple times before but i could simply re-connect.

edit:
Now i try again using the old downloaded java thingy (not through the site) and it said the token expired. But after that i could login just fine.

There was a server crash while we were chatting. Someone logged out while in the character creation room which apparently the game didn't handle too well. The server is back online now, and the bug should be fixed.

I see. My character didn't seem to suffer but i did lost a couple things i built. Including my shack my new mine and some crops.
If only i had either the mine or shack so i can hide to regain health. Foxes camping me :/

Server is still down apparently. Three days later.

Edit: To clarify, the application works fine. When I tried to log in, the thing just said it was unable to connect. There's probably a very simple way to solve this problem, but its still happening for some other guys down at Bay12Games.

Server went down again. Probably character creation related. Lazy code gnome went to bed a couple of hours ago, and the server will be up in approximately one lazy code gnome sleep cycle. Apologies for the inconvenience, but we've never had this many players knocking at/down our doors before. :)

I know what crashed the server. I did it twice. I mean, without intention.

There's a house near apple trees to the north-west from the Ring, and when I click it's door my character moves in and the server hangs.

Oh wait... I didn't look at time. Apparently my actions crashed server, but now I did nothing and it still crashed...

@ Deon: You are quite right about this. The house was corrupted due to flawed saving in the first, unrelated, crash. I crashed the server once, entering the house you mentioned. I have now banished the haunting house to another plane of existence using my divine powers. ;)

Sorry for all the crashes. Let's just say the server has never been so thoroughly stress-tested before. ;)

At least I've gotten the chance to fix a few bugs.
