Forum - new posts - strange behaviour

Postby kobnach » Fri Aug 21, 2009 6:35 pm

Every morning (PST) we go from lots of new posts to very few. Then the list of new posts accumulates, until the next morning. It's almost as if the definition of "new" is "modified since 5 PM game time," - thus at 4 PM there are 23 hours of new posts, whereas at 6 PM there are one hours worth. However, I don't think this is quite the situation, as there seems to be some clearing out of older "new" posts during that 24 hours.

Is this intended behaviour? I for one would much rather see "new since I last checked" or failing that "posted in the last n hours - where n is a constant, not a range from 0 to 24)"

Weird indeed. For me, the forums always seem to indicate posts that I haven't read, quite simply.

Do you always use the same browser? I read at the office and at work, and the severe new post shrinkage tends to coincide with me arriving at work.
