Attention Limit and Barbarian vs Civilization slider

Postby ItsFunToLose » Mon Mar 14, 2011 8:09 pm

I just moved my slider one notch toward barbarian

I have 24-1 INT.

My attention limit is stated to be 24, and I was under the impression only our base INT will contribute, not our modded INT.

I can only fill my study up to 23 of 24. increasing it to 25 allows me to add a cone cow(+1), but not a soldier ant(+2) leaving me at 24/25.

Was this intentional?

in other words, is the civilization/barbarian slider supposed to affect our attention limit? If so, fix the tooltip in the study that states my attention limit as my unmodded INT. If not, please fix the coding to reflect the information in the tooltip.

Attention limit is depended of int, and int depended of this slider. No bugs detected.

It's just a visual bug in the study menu, your attention will still be affected.

Guess unmodded int means unmodded by items, not by slider. Hey you ever saw barbar studyin on university? (Except Connan, that one studied with Chuck Norris) :)

Was just going to post this bug, since I'm going the other way (towards civilization) and the number in the Study menu did not increase as the buff was added. Makes going Civ just as useless as ever if it doesn't effect it at all, unless of course your Juhubert from world 3 pulling mass combat stuff... but who ever does that, right?

The Attention Limit is not updating with changes to Int from the PB sliders. However, you're Attention is still equal to your Int score. If you go towards Civ, then you'll get the increased attention. If you go Barb, you'll lose limit. I haven't gotten to any +Int items yet, so can't report if they're changing the attention limit properly or not.

The bug is either: A) Attention Limit is not updating properly with changes to Int from personal beliefs, or B) Changes to Int from personal beliefs (and possibly from items) are changing the Attention Limit when they shouldn't be.

I really would prefer it be A. It would provide SOME use to this slider now.

In client code there is explicitly used base value of INT. So any slider/item/buff adjustments won't be reflected in study menu. But it looks like server takes them into account. I wonder what will happen if you put max curiosity items with your civ slider maxed and then move it a bit to barbarism.

Has this been confirmed/denied/addressed yet? I'd like to start going civ but I'm not gonna waste my points if it actually doesn't increase the ATT limit. A word from the devs would be nice on the intended function of INT and belief modifiers / equip modifiers.

EDIT: I'm aware of the visual bug on the study screen not showing your increased att limit (It also does this when you gain an INT point via FEP). I'm just wondering if it's intended that going civ will increase your att limit or not.
