Bark Boat recipe claims I don't have all the ingredients

Earlier today I was attempting to make a bark boat. When I clicked the 'Craft' button it kept telling me that I did not have all the ingredients, even though I did. I moved each of the required ingredients around in my inventory and tried again, and this time it worked. It sounds to me like at least one of the items wasn't registering properly as being in my inventory or something, but I'm no programmer.

It uses the birch bark as regular bark if you placed it in your inventory last. Either use 2 pieces of birch bark or pick up the other bark and place it back in your inventory and craft.

Drop the non-birch bark and pick it up again. Works for me every time.
