Can't log in

Today I finished hunting, lifted my boat and ported to my hearth fire. Normally, this works just fine, but today my client froze, and I could not log back in or the client would freeze instantly. I tried all major clients and the default one, but every time they freeze. Sometimes I can see the room i'm in with no map, chat options, or anything, at my hearth fire, but it just freezes. What should I do?

If you're using a client started from a console, please focus that terminal, press Ctrl+\ and post the output, please.

What does that mean exactly? The black window that pops up before the client does? If so, that flashes for an instance then disappears.

EDIT: Also, a side note: I can walk into the room with an alt character just fine.
