EDIT: For unraveling. Right. This is probably not a bug but just not a feature yet.

That's what I meant :). I think it would be reasonable for the cauldron to influence the Silk Filament quality.

what was the quality of:
the cocoon
the water
the iron used to make the cauldron
the fuel
and the final filament

cocoon: Q10
water: Q55
iron: Q >40
fuel: 10 (i guess, maybe 21. i am not sure about that)
filament: 10

That would explain it, but i thought "bad" stats decreases the quality instead of limiting it.

well your dex can't be less than 10, so if it was based purely on dex it would average the cocoon quality with your dex or something. which in this case would average out to 10. i don't know. it's actually more likely that loftar missed something, as he did with tea seeds, which were all coming up q10 for a couple days at the begining.
