Fishing not working!

My person needs to eat and I just made a fishing pole. When I logged on I could not fish! My person is starving and I guessing it is just a bug and will soon be fixed. If anyone has an answer to my problem please comment!

Not a bug, you just don't know what you're doing.

Did it give you a message when you tried to fish? If so, what was it?

Do you have the fishing skill?

Is your fishing pole fully equipped?

Are you fishing at a fishing node (where fish jump out of the water occasionally)?

Those questions need to be answered before I can really help you.

I did not get a message about anything when i tryed to fish.
I do have the fishing skill and have fished in the past.
Yes my fishing pole is equipped with the fallowing: rode, spindly taproot, bone hook, and Earthworm for bait.
Yes I fist at fishing nodes.
And I am doing it right. I have fished with the same rode in the past and cought fish. I know how to do it but when I cast the line it goes in the water and then between 10-20 seconds later the line goes back up and in the persons hands with no fish in the inventory.

That means how you're trying to fish somewhere during a certain phase of the moon cycle which doesn't work.

Thank you ApocalypsePlease so much. It was the time of day and my placement at the river. I waited for the right time of day and went were i saw fish jumping and got some fish. Thanks!

Fish is a drainable resource. So if you started fishing after someone else that just drained it. ... No fish for you (Until its refilled or upgraded again. Assuming its the same as for other resource nodes).
- symptom: While fishing, the character constantly stops fishing while not catching anything. (even when using bait instead of lures.)
