Can't interact when logging in

When the server crashed I was holding a pepper mill. Now when I log in with either the normal client or enders I am stuck in place and can't move or interact with anything. My cursor still is holding the pepper mill but I can't drop it or anything. I have other players walk up and I can see them, they can send me invites join a party that show up on my screen but I can't interact with any of them. I haven logged in where I logged out and have logged into my hearthfire but none of that works. I am just frozen in place and can't click on any menu options to fix it.

Figured out how to fix it. My mouse wouldn't open any menus so I used the keyboard to open my inventory and dropped the peppermill in my backpack. Not sure why I couldn't drop it on the ground and move. Once it went into my inventory my mouse worked as intended.

*edit* After it was in my backpack I found that I still couldn't drop it on the ground but I could transfer it to another container (box). Strange.

For some strange reason you can't drop a peppermill on the ground. The bug is so old, it's considered a feature.
