Idk if this is a bug or not, but recently i was building a pali with some lagg. So as i click extend west, but whilst walking to it, i notice i don't have wood blocks with me so i click somewhere else. It lags a bit and when i step away, i notice there's a sign without any blocks of wood in it.
So seems like it's possible to make signs without a thing.
