I'm full nature, and I just "picked" some feldspar. I didn't get the feldspar, but I did get a spider. Is this intentional?

Yeah, from what I've seen. Very well could be considered a bug, though you could also say "Hmm... thought I found feldspar, but I guess I was mistaken. I was never very good at identifying rocks. Here's this cute spider crawling around, though. What a nice find!"

Appears to make sense. This does indicate that the product of your forage does not determine bonus finds but that the act of foraging itself is what does. So a product of 2 does not influence the bonus rewards, for example.

I thought that myself aswel, but I was just hoping for an actual answer from Jorb of Loftar if this is on purpose. :)

Hopefully one of them will poke their head in on that, but I doubt it. You might send them PMs asking for a "bug" or "working as intended" if you haven't.

I don't understand what the fuss is about. The RNG for getting spiders/webs is initiated with the act of foraging. It's pretty simple. Whether or not they intended for you to be able to "miss" your foraged item and still get the random one doesn't really matter. It's a pretty rare occurrence and I doubt they really care or would consider it a bug.
