Black screen after login for default app & clients

I originally posted this on the end of 1John5vs7's Subject about the black screen.

But I thought I might aswell make a new post hoping to get it noticed and fixed quicker.
A server restart happend between friday evening 9/3/12 and saturday morning 10/3/12 (rollback), Hours later I tried to log in
and my game stopped working properly.

It worked absolutely fine beforehand without any hiccups. Now when I go to play
I always end up getting a black screen just after login which just stays there. I have left it to load for over an hour
and still nothing.

I have tried removing Java and re-installing it (Java 6), updating video card, deleting caches, turned off
firewall for a test, tried Arksu client, Ender client (both clients up to date) and Default app. OpenGL seems to still be
working fine as other games are using it happily.

I have tried to run the game on 3 seperate computers (2 running windows 7 and 1 running XP and all with ATI video cards).
All the computers showed the same issue.

One odd thing I stumbled apon just recently was that I could play the game successfully after midnight, Everything loads
fine and character selection screen shows up fine.I honestly don't know how the hell this works... It will NOT work through
the day or arfternoon But it will play happily after midnight.

Once again this never happend till the last server restart happend which makes me think it's some sort of server
based Glitch. Here's hoping it's something straight forward to fix that someone has already solved.

You need to make sure you do a completely clean wipe and install of Java. After you uninstall Java, run virus scans and such before reinstalling to make sure you don't have anything infecting your system. Make sure to reboot after uninstalling, too. There's some instructions floating around somewhere about steps that should be taken. It's a few more than "uninstall, reinstall"

edit: I'm trying to find, but can't recall where I saw them at. There are a couple of utilities, but I'm not familiar with them, so use at your own risk. Try a Google search for 'clean java install'.
