Disabling dwm.exe, have to click under everything..?

Postby ArtemisGray » Tue Jul 03, 2012 1:17 pm

This issue isn't exactly with the game, but I have no idea what this problem is called or what I should google. And what I have searched has turned up no results.

I've been disabling dwm.exe lately, I go from my standard 10-ish FPS to like 30-40 while playing H&H. Which makes the game waaaaaay more playable.

However, for some reason I have to point my cursor and click below everything to do things such as walking through a door, picking up items from my inventory etc.

I kept dwm.exe running and instead just changed my windows theme to basic, and I have this same issue.

When I played H&H with dwm.exe disabled in full screen, that issue with the clicking was gone. However the game was in a very small box, I couldn't view my map or health/stamina bars.

Does anyone know anything at all about what I could do? or should I take this problem to some sort of tech support forum, I don't know.

What i don't get is : Fullscreen <-> small box

Fullscreen is what it says - the application (HnH Ender client) is shown on the complete screen, but small box sounds like (resized) window...

too bad you can't draw it like the amazing "catchrabbithowto" ;)

Too me it sounds like an issue with teamwork between dwm (display windows manager) and your Intel graphics driver.

Yeah, when I click the fullscreen option, it isn't... fullscreen...

I'll upload some screenshots tommorow morning

But yeah all my H&H issues are probably due to my Intel graphics card/driver whatever

That sucks.

I think i asked you already for NB manufacturer and model number (see sticker at bottom) :P

and / or dl this little freeware programm: http://www.horland.de/download/CWSysinfo.zip

unpack anywhere on your NB and doubleclick to run - no installation and nothing changed on your system...it's in german but easy to use

1. click button: Scan my system (just click "ok" if / at any messages poppin up)
2. when scan is finished click "Report" button - on the left at bottom
3. in the report window check "Alles" (Everything) at bottom right
4. click "Erzeuge Report" ( make report ) left one of the 2 top buttons
5. click "Speichern unter" (Save at) - right one of the 2 top buttons
6. close programm

now go to where you saved the report, open with Notepad editor and delete the key at "Product Key:" (7th entry) - as it is your vista key which i don't need to know!!! ;)

now copy whole txt file, paste into http://codepad.org/ - Language: Plain Text, check "private", uncheck "run", then Submit and pm me the url - so i can look what we can do about updating your drivers...

Hey, I was having the same problem with a toshiba laptop with intel graphics.

I fixed it by googling "intel display driver" and getting to their site, from there they directed me to the toshiba website for drivers and they just had me pick from a dropdown list of what laptop I had (L355-S7812, it was on the bottom of the laptop).

Now it works for me.

If you can get to your manufacturer's website like I did you could just find your problem. :D :P :) ;)

I've been telling people on here about the dwm.exe graphical lag for almost 2 years now, but I don't I have the problem you do when in game.
