So, I died (again) while swimming, because the server lagged out, and had my slider set 2 clicks to change, and came back with 0 LP. WTH?

No, he means when you create a new character on the account. There will be something to the left (forgot what =/) that you click to get the LP back. This is in the starter room.

Yeah, I know. I was making a (poor) joke. I just tried going back in with another alt and the stone is there now. Not sure why it wasn't the first time. Phew.
