Can't enter game world.

Hi, I'm brand new to this game, and just made this account a few days ago. However, when I try to play the game, everything starts fine. No Java errors or anything. I clicked on the only button I saw, New Character, and appeared in the Character Creation Room as a floating blue ball. I can move around fine, and opened the chest and took the stuff. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to get into the actual world. I checked on H&H website, and saw a cellar door next to a ladder, and a staircase next to some guy, both of which never show up when I'm in the room playing. Any ideas?

Talk to the npcs to get a body, name your character, and then leave for the real world.
