Logged out when entering combat with a bear (Ender client)

Postby Snackish » Fri Sep 27, 2013 2:08 am

I figured I'd try my luck at a bear and before I could even fight it my game crashed and booted me out. I repeatly tried to log in and It logged me in and the sound was playing but there was no screen just stuck on the pick your character screen. I deleted belts then tried again still didn't work, but I waited 2-3 minutes and then logged back in (still being mauled by said bear) and it let me move around.
What caused it?

Which client are you using?

I'm using Enders, should probably of put that in the title as this isn't a bug relating to the HnH client itself...

The client might have freezed / crashed but Java process wasn't shut down and when opening client again a second Java thread started?

I had some ~same thing with latest updated enders (via updater) + Xcom's recent bugfixed haven.jar. When entering fight (luckly for me that was only boars) client emidietly crashes (each time i enter fight). But for me it let me back in game each time.

Fixed it by installing java 6 RE 32bit and pointing .bat to use it instead of java 7.

@ haelmut
I'm not totally sure about this but Ender fixed something in Fightview.java and Gob.java (disabled for now combat damage displaying to prevent crashes) lately and i guess that's not in the src Xcom used for his haven.jar ...

When using Xcoms haven.jar it doesn't make much sense to use Enders updater as it might change the haven.jar aswell

If you guys get this bug to show up and you happen to have the console open it could be the deciding factor to tracking this bug down. Without it its hard to replicate cause this happened to me ones and only that one time. I have tried to replicate it but its super rare and I don't know what it can relate to other then some rumors about the floating damage above the head somehow causing a null pointer.
