Java update 45, default client - Connection refused: Connect

if you're starting the default client with settings made above this shows up - green arrow shows where to check


Just close the JCP console showing those attributes in manifest messages...

I recommend to have all plugins disabled in Browser and only activate when needed and with trusted sites (Youtube -> Flash) - for playing HnH it doesn't to be activated here

So, I saw this game on Projared's channel (He's an awesome youtuber. Check him out if you haven't) So I decided to try it. But when I tried to sign in, it just says "Connection refused:connect" What do I do?

So I just updated java and now all it says when I try to log in is connection refused: connect and now I can't play anymore

I've had the same issue, the cure was quite simple - i've uninstalled java v7, leaving java v6. now everything works fine

Did any of the posters in the last 10 or so posts even look at borka's post above about settings?

Another thought: haven't dug into the recent changes into Java, so don't even have a guess if it will work or not, but... Will adding the Haven certificate to the OS's certificate store fix this issue, too, without making a bunch of settings changes? (jorbtar's thoughts on SSL and certs: http://www.havenandhearth.com/portal/doc-ssl )

so I've been getting the message "Connection Refused: connection" for the past 4-5 days straight, and I've tried every alternate launcher I could find.
Is anyone able to assist me? Everything really started happening after I updated my java, but i doubt that's the issue.

It's the issue. Java did something weird and both Haven and Salem have been having issues. By default your java security settings should be set to MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE now so if you set them back to normal levels that sometimes works for people. In other cases switching to the Ender's client and updating that works. The most consistent way to fix the issue is to uninstall your java and reinstall an older version.
