Baby animals not drinking from a barrel now?

Postby AnnaC » Mon Jan 13, 2014 8:21 pm

Well I know you could keep a barrel of milk near young animal pens if your breeding females couldn't stretch their milk, but now I have a pair of girl piglets that are taking starvation damage despite having a barrel of milk near their pens; the only thing is I did kill off all the adult sows (cleaning and re-organizing my animals to be more efficient since I don't play as much now). So do they need a nursing mother animal of their species alive to trigger young feeding, and only use barrel milk if the mother is depleted?

Or is this just a case of baby pigs not drinking from barrels?

Great, I messed up badly then. Hopefully one of the piglets will live long enough, I could hopefully breed the damage out in a couple generations :-/

I accidentally did this with either pigs or sheep last world, too. (pretty sure it was sheep. I'd been afk for work for a few weeks and they'd been fed but not looked after and there were sheep. everywhere.) Mine survived, I hope yours do too.
