Ender's client wont run unless I run updater every time

I recently lost the client so I went to reinstall. I ran the updater from the main Ender's link and the game loaded fine. Now however when I try and run from haven.jar I get the connection refused: connect error even with updated java security settings (thanks borka). If I run from updater it works fine but it erases personal settings (annoying to click through the 20 options every time).

Any ideas?

Specs: Running Java 7.45 (yes I've edited security settings on java and even included exceptions in router). Windows 7 64 bit version.

Ok semi solved. For some reason the download from updater didn't create a run.bat file. I made one up manually and it saves settings with the only issue being that the images for crops and the like are now in sets of threes on tiles instead of centered on their actual location. I've had this happen before on my mac but not on a PC before.

curlymatt update your Java to 7u51 please (afterwards you have to check Java security settings again)

Thanks to you both. Still not sure why run.bat is omitted. Seems like it's going to be a headache for future users but glad the information is there if you're willing to read it.

It really looks like there's no run.bat coming in when doing a "fresh" install with updater.jar so only solution is to create one yourself
