Game causes my internet to disconnect...

But first, the butt-kissing! Thank you Oh Mighty Indie Developer Gods for this most wonderful little game that allows me to finally fulfill my life's fantasy and wear a bear's head as a hat.

I have come across a peculiar problem. When I play the game using either Pacho's extended client or the Proprietary client I find that after about 3-10 minutes of game time my internet, not my connection to the game server but my entire internet connection, dies. I tried to wait it out a few times to see if it would reconnect and it did so twice and didn't another 4 times -- however, upon closing the game's window my connection would slowly reconnect. I was thinking perhaps its just at&t being the horrible ISP that they are, but I haven't had the problem at any other time other than when in the game.

I tried downloading Pacho's client with updates from scratch and still no-go.

any suggestions or anything else I could say that would help?

Note: I've been playing for 2 weeks now and haven't had this problem any other time.

disable the IRC functions, there's some sort of bug on the code that makes it eat up your connection. I haven't figured out what's causing it yet, so it'll be a while before I can fix it.

To disable IRC functions: on the login screen press ctrl+O and clear out the server and channel lines, then close the options window by either pressing the X on the top right, or pressing ctrl+O again

The problem should stop after that, though you won't be able to use the built in IRC client.

edit: if you're losing connection on the regular client too, then I guess its loftar's doing =P

I'm on irc separately through mIRC so no worries on that functionality - I'll try that in your client and see what happens. Thanks for the reply (and the customizable resolution!)

EDIT: Guess i spoke to soon, had an hour of normal play then the same problem... and now i'm going to repeat the same 30+ minute boat trip back to town because my hearth is in the middle of nowhere.
