Character doesn't appear when logging in

I had started playing a couple days ago, working with some friends to set up a base. One friend had to go on vacation for a while, so he gave me his login info so I could keep him studying, etc. I had both accounts logged at once, after playing, I logged them both out. No animals around or anything. When I put in my login details after logging out (so it would remember me for next time) my character wasn't in the list. My profile on this site didn't list my character on my account either. There was no runestone when I checked on a new character. Yes, this is my only account, I'm not logging the wrong one, had it since 2012. I still seem to have what I believe to be the character save or whatever it is in my enders folder. (belts_Walldead.conf) The "save" or whatever has a time stamp of when I got on. Maybe it didn't save my progress. My friend's time stamp on his "save" conf file thing. (Its got the same name as his character) is the time I logged his file out. My hearthfire is still in the game, visible by my friends character and my newly created alts. I've read a few posts saying other characters have vanished too.

Again. There is no rune stone in the character creation place. I could barely afford any skills, let alone ones that could be used to leave sents or summon me. There were no animals on the property. I didn't starve etc. I'm not imcompetent.

Just tested (10 secs before this sentence) a new character with the same name as my missing character Walldead (maybe stupid idea but last resort). The game freezes upon loading the alt, the alt has skill bars for combat skills it cant possess as a fresh character, but a differently named alt has no issues. (Walltron)

I don't want this to happen again. A little help would be nice. Even if I dont get a character restore or anything, it would be nice knowing this bug doesn't happen again.

Details of what I did for replication maybe: Logged my character, "Remember Me" checked, went about playing, doing stuff. Logged friends account with the "Remember Me" unchecked. Played both. Logged out of friends account first, pressed "forget me" on his client. Logged my file out 5 mins after, his login info appeared on the login screen. I entered my account details, logged in, my character was gone.

Did you try to login with your "disappeared Ender char" with default client?

btw. the belts_charname.conf just stores your Hotkeybelt configuration - it stays even when wipe happened and a new world starts - it's just an Ender feature - important is what gets stored in the servers database

I just tried logging in with the default client. Clicked the play thing on this site at the top, logged in, my testing alts are here, no main character. Still no runestone in new character creation place.

I read some posts saying you can't give characters on the same account the same character name, even if one dies. Both my missing main character and that "dumb idea test alt" are/were named the same thing.

I PMed them a while ago and I'm waiting for a response atm. I'm kinda worried about messing up stuff even more by killing off those alts I made or making new characters or something, so I can't really play. I'm not going to touch my friend's account again either. Losing my own stuff is fine but he put a lot more time in his character. Is there something I can do in the mean time, besides making a whole new account and playing that till this maybe gets resolved?

id suggest trying to check each spelling of whatever youve been trying to log in on with.
"Bu11sh0t" looks like really pita, id try logging in "bu11sh0t" first, before anything, and then maybe "Bu11shOt" and so on.
all the similar cases ive seen were always due to the account owner misspelling (especially lowercase/capital) afaik.

I've only got one account, so unless I had somehow managed to log into a stranger's for two days straight, I've been using the right one. But just to be sure, I checked a bunch of combinations of usernames and passwords. Nothing else was a valid combination. It's been nearly two days. I wanna play again, so I'm just going to forget this ever happened and start over with a new character. At least the work I did on the base persisted.
