Milk

Postby Kenshinoro » Fri Aug 29, 2014 5:30 pm

not sure if its a bug but I didn't know where else to put it. I was without internet for a day or 2 and my livestock went without food but they still had grassland which I thought was Q10 food by default. my cow's milk degraded to Q9 but all its stats still say 10. can anyone explain?

its not a bug. milk q (meat q, hide q, bone q as well) goes down when a cow starves. see your beige bar on the animal info window.

both bars look 99% full. I don't understand why she would have starved if there was grass to feed on. doesn't look like any of my other animals were stunted

One of my cows has it for 99% for unknown reason aswell, I don't really know why, but it just happens sometimes. Perhaps the problem is the lack of the milk for calves if you milk cows frequently, but I don't really know.

just as how you wouldnt want to eat roots or rats unless you are starving to death, animals too prefer proper food and not random grass around. eating grass is a sign of starvation.

If the bars are at 99%, and the stats say 10q, then the milk, meat and bones will be 9q.

No it will not. However it does not affect breeding that I have ever noticed.

Maybe in HnH, but cows do graze in pastures and enjoy eating grass, so I can see why it wouldn't make sense for a cow in HnH to starve if grazing on a grassland because they would be perfectly capable of feeding provided there is enough grassland available.
