Updating regional maps

Postby Hermedicus » Thu Nov 26, 2009 3:51 pm

Hey i just updated a local map around wayneville.
what i did was: I mapped about 10 squares at a new local map, then i took that unfinished local map and updated an existing finished local map. that worked well. but if i now take the updated local map and try to update the regional map with it that doesnt work. even if i start a new regional map with that updated local map it shows the old map. Do i have to draw a complete new local map to update a regional map or doesnt that work too? or do i have to make a complete new regional map ?

Technically, you don't need a completely new local map to update the regional map. More precisely, the regional map is updated to the date of the oldest piece in the local map.

So what you're saying is that we have to update the entire local map to be able to update that piece of the regional map?

Yes, but what I'm also saying is that that isn't necessarily the same as "a complete new local map", because you could, for instance, update the local map from three other partial local maps. Just sayin'. :)

It could be argued that it might be reasonable to update the regional map to, say, the median of the ages of the pieces of the local map.
