Logout/Disconnection Issues

Postby TragicSnowfall » Thu Dec 03, 2009 10:53 pm

A few times when I've tried logging in I've had the client say that I'm already logged in. It's been doing this more often lately, even if I use ':lo'. I can see this as being potentially extremely dangerous, for example, if someone or something attacks you and you can't do anything about it because you aren't actually there. I was logged out for 10 hours earlier (With :lo) and when I got back it said I was logged in.

The other thing I've had trouble with is frequent disconnections. I noticed someone else mention they had a disconnection issue too, so I figured I'd mention it. Could it be set up so when there's a lag between the client and the server it attempts to reestablish a connection rather than just disconnecting entirely?

[edit]
This thread mentions a 30 second wait, but that doesn't seem to be my problem. I'm able to do things and get disconnected in much less than 30 seconds. I think I've actually been disconnected within 30 seconds of having logged in, oddly enough.

I'm giving this a bump. Three people reported this thing, perhaps the devs should really look into how it could be fixed from the server side? It might be that a reasonable amount of potential players had the same issue and dumped the game because they thought it has a crappy server/buggy client without bothering to chime in.
