Seed quality change?

Postby Blaze » Tue Dec 08, 2009 5:41 pm

What affects seed quality now?

I've got 200 farming, yet my crops dropped by about 2 points. They're still much less than 200.

Does scythe/soil have anything to do with it? Or is it because I'm full industry?
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

well with seeds there's a variance when harvesting, +/-3 i think. being full industry gives you only 1 seed as opposed to 3 at full nature, so full nature has a better chance of actually raising the seeds, as farming is a softcap only and will not actually improve the crops. the only way to raise crop q is through selective planting over many generations.

When the crops' quality starts to approach your farming skill to a certain margin (50, IIRC), there is a chance of quality decay when harvesting.

It's still not even close to it though.

In that case, it is weird. I cannot remember there being any other effects in play. Maybe someone else harvested them for you at some point? :)

Sorry, it seems I remembered on old formula. Harvesting actually works so that the crop quality is modified by plus/minus five on each harvest, so that can actually happen all the time.
