Scents not showing

Nearby scents don't draw when you toggle Tracking, unless you enter and exit a house. (Or possibly leave the area and come back, but I haven't tried that yet.)

Probably becouse the perpetrator has high Stealth/Intellect, and you have lower Exploration/Perception, wich means,
it will be harder for you to detect hes or hers scents. You might need to roll the dice many times if you roll against someone with higher skills before you get lucky.

Actually, this is a known problem. The game will not roll when tracking is turned on.

Probably will stay this way, because its already too easy to reroll, dont need to make it so the only thing you need to do to see any scent is spam the tracking button.
