Game Engine forever Loading

Hello. I have been playing this game for the past few days and everything has been going alright so far.
The only problem is that sometimes (possibly during peak hours?) the game engine takes either a very long time to load... or completely freezes (which is happening to me now). I was getting in and out of the game fine this morning. Is it just down to lag? (I realise this game is not optimized for speed and performance but any help would be appreciated).

What, more exactly, do you mean by "loading"? If you refer to the screen which says "Loading..." after you've logged in, it has been covered in a number of threads; e.g. http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=364.

After I choose a character, I get the black screen saying loading..., sometimes it shows a GUI... than the whole thing just freezes.
Sometimes I can't play, othertimes it finally loads 5-10 mins later. This game is awesome btw.

In that case, it is most likely the problem I linked to. For the record, I am working on a protocol replacement to fix the problem.

Thank you. It does actually load, but sometimes it will take a bit longer than normal.

i have the same long load problem.

i checked my router setting and could find nothing about packets.

however when i disabled a function called "WAN Ping Blocking" designed to "Computer hackers use what is known as "The Router can be set up so it will not respond to an ICMP Ping from the outside. This heightens the level of security of your Router. As computer hackers use what is known as "Pinging" to find potential victims on the Internet. By pinging a specific IP address and receiving a response from the IP address, a hacker can determine that something of interest might be there."

When i disabled the ping blocking i had inproved performance in that long loading screans were reduced. Although continue to make game play impossilbe.

Additionally whilst playing Haven and Hearth my router security report is filled with reports of a "Probable ASCEND Probe". every couple of seconds.

Im no computer whiz but this might help those who know what they are doing find a solution to this problem.
