Game doesn't load at all

Whenever I click play, the Heaven & Hearth window pops up & sits there for a second, then it gives me this error.
CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Could not load file/URL specified: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WFGBCVE9\autohaven[1].jnlp]
at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source)

I've tried using FireFox, but with the same results. It doesn't even give me an error though.
Javaw.exe is still running in the background.


Any help would be really appreciated.

I am having the same error in firefox, i haven't tried Internet Explorer and would like not to. If anyone knows what might be causing this I would love to know.


Edit: Now i can get in, i'd still like to know what might of caused said error so that i can prevent that in the future

Well, that information doesn't really help a lot. You'll need to post the traceback from the "Nested exception" tab of the error window.

Thats the thing, i receive no error window so i have nothing i can send or anything to look at to try and fix it.

Possibly related, only I get no error report.
Ever since I updated Java, 2 days ago, whenever I click the Play button, it only works half of the time.

The times it does not work, I DO get the download, the H&H logo does pop up for a while, but after that javaw.exe just sits idle among my processes (using no processor capacity at all).

How, then, is it "the same error" as the original poster, seeing how he gets an error message and you do not?

Can you check whether that is the same javaw.exe process as is running during the download, or a new one? (You can determine it by comparing their PIDs.)

Further, do you experience the same problem if you use the http://www.havenandhearth.com/java/haven.jnlp link instead of the Play button?

Just to confirm what martinuzz said

Iam running pachos client for my main character. and when i want to do something on my newbie and attempt to open up a standard client. the first time i try, the logo pops up, but it fails to load. clicking the play button again allows it to load.

This problem has only happened to me when i try to run 2 clients, but i ususally use pachos client so i haven't tested the normal one by itself much.

In response to Loftar he only got the message in IE where as in Firefox like me he got nothing. Im not sure what the problem was, but i fixed it by completely removing Java player from system and then re downloading and reinstalling from the fresh download.

Just want to say that on my Vista computer using IE8

I click the play button at the top of the screen. I see the progress bar that downloads the new version and verifies my version is up to date... then the haven & hearth logo pops up, then disappears... then nothing else happens.
