Cow follows after you unequip rope

Postby Potjeh » Mon Apr 12, 2010 4:51 pm

I just tamed a cow and went to slaughter the remainder of the herd. I unequipped the rope and equipped my sword and killed them. Then I noticed the cow is following me even though I had sword and shield in hand. I guess you could use this to lead a dozen cows at once (leash, unequip, equip, leash next). Not really much of an exploit, but a bug is a bug.

I just tried, once you re-equip the rope, it doesn't allow you to leash another cow. You just don't need to keep the rope on.

so what if you equipt different ropes for each new cow you want to add?

seems like someone with cows should test this

Well, it's actually not a bug in the code, though it may be a bug in intentions. :)

I did intend that you can leash as many cows as you can fit ropes in your inventory. Whether that is good and as it should can be a topic for further discussions.

I think the mechanic sounds sound.
However, you should have to have one piece of glue in your inventory per active rope-cow to do this (you need to somehow fasten the free end of the rope to the inside of your inventory).

Oh my God. Cattle drives. (Or, uh, cattle come-alongs, technically.)

I think I love you. (In a completely heterosexual manner.)

Needless to say I completely agree that this should stay in there.
