Fast-vanishing buckets

Postby Gauphastus » Wed Apr 21, 2010 7:30 am

Me and my buddies out in our little settlement are a bit confused at the rate our buckets disappear. We were thinking maybe there was something wrong with their rate of decay..?
We built three. It's been just three of us. We turn around and they're all gone, only around for maybe under an hour.
EDIT: In a test, we shrunk the estimate to about a half hour. That's downright nutty.

Pretty weird. Maybe they're growing legs and running off.

Buckets do not decay, they just despawn when nobody is around.

Buckets are like anything else you can put in inventory. They disappear real fast. Flour and dreams disappear instantly. Branches disappear quickly and blocks last a little longer. Buckets are probably like blocks. They disappear in about twenty minutes.

Things you can lift, and which you construct from the build menu are subject to decay.

Things that you craft just disappear.

Carcasses and animal skeletons can be lifted but the disappear too, like things you can put in inventory.

If you want your bucket to survive for a little while put it in a basket or better yet an urn.

It is a damn shame, but it is true.

It would be really, really nice if one could leave a bucket, tankard etc. either hanging from a bucket or on the top of it.
