Sooo I downloaded the client, and ran Haven&Hearth... only to see an error come up and the application close.
This has happened each time, and also with the extended client.
The error looks like this,

at javax.media.opengl.Threading.invokeOnOpenGLThread(Threading.java:271)

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Caused by: javax.media.opengl.GLException: Error swapping buffers

Anyone have any ideas?

This seems to be a general problem with S3 graphics cards. I don't really know what's causing it, though. It doesn't exactly help that JOGL won't propagate the real error code. :)
