The worst monsters in the Hearthlands warp the fabric of space and time..

the moon walk?

Just taking a moment to report the naked butt bug and the jitters
Every time I log into my hearth fire I temporarily loose all of my clothes. The HUD catches up, but not before I am either flashed or mooned. It always makes me chuckle. cute bug.
Also, I have been experiencing some serious delay/repeat problems. The character repeatedly walks through the same space, keeps walking, and/or walks into an object (like a basket).
I have learned to quit and do a fresh restart when my mousing gets super slow, but this is different.
Perhaps these bugs are a version of the moon walk in honer of the late MJ ;)

the clothing taking a second i think is just the way the game streams pictures for objects... i guess they could just make you not finish "loading" until after its already downloaded them.. but it dosent really bother anyone.
I experienced the trouble walking as well.. i think it's likely network lag?

I've been seeing the trouble walking, but only very recently (today, maybe yesterday). It's quite maddening; makes the game unplayable when it happens.

I first noticed the naked login when the ability to look behind objects was added, and presumed it was a side effect. It's _much_ less of a problem than having griefers take advantage of inaccessible spots behind objects, so I'm happy.

I don't really mind the naked login, what bothers me is the everything-else-is-invisible-too. Why does the game need to download all the graphics again every time I connect, anyway? (It's not connection speed that's slowing it down, either; the unpacking or something pegs my CPU.)

It's likely the loading all the images into buffers [so that it can draw them near-instantly infinite times]... I'm not 100% of how lothar coded it, but if it's anything like java applications i make.... loading images from the jpg/gif/bmp formats into some sort of BufferedImage object takes a decent amount of time..... around the time it takes for you to go from naked to clothed.

The flashing is indeed caused by the images being read into memory from file. I could have made it so that it refuses to log you in until everything is loaded, but I'd guess everyone prefers it this way. ;)

As for the jitters, they're caused by cycle duration overruns on the server. They happened a lot tonight since I had to run the client on the server while developing (and the client takes a tad too much memory to run alongside the server).
