Moths of Varying Ages

Postby kobnach » Sun Jul 12, 2009 8:22 am

So, I caught a female moth some hours before I caught the male. I put them both in the same chest, with lots of room for eggs. I checked on them just now, and found a male moth, no female moth, and no eggs.

It looks to me like the female died of old age, without noticing her youthful suitor. Is this expected behaviour, or is it a bug? (Frankly, I was mildly surprised she was still alive when I found the male - seemed like more than a game day - but she actually lasted a while before disappearing (dying).)

I noticed my moths are not making babies either.
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

If all what people are saying is true, there does seem to be some bug in relation to this. I'll have to investigate.

I had the same problem multiple times last night, When my first female died without breeding, I stuck three other females(I had a bad ratio) in the box with the same male and went to bed, when I came back it was empty

There was indeed a bug in moth reproduction. I have fixed it now, so I hope they all reproduce properly from now on.

I would expect there to be at least two bugs for moth reproduction to occur at all. :D
