You need a fire to roast meat

This is trivial, but I keep noticing.

I quite commonly make a fire, then immediately start roasting meat. The game doesn't seem to know I have a fire until I right click on it - but I just lit it. It makes sense as code, not so much sense as realism, game logic, etc.

By right clicking it, you start using it. That is the way it is with basically all the tools (such as mill, loom, anvil, etc.) It seems weird at first, but it really is more of the ui not being explained than being odd. However, maybe if you light a fire, code could automatically say you're using the fire.

Basically, by standing next to a toilet in real life doesn't make you automatically use it, you have to interact with it, the same is true ingame.

When i open the lid of the toilet i don't walk away and return to start using it.
But i don't think this is a "bug" that needs fixing because as you said, this is how the mechanics work.

By lighting a fireplace, the character should probably start using it immediately. It's been bothering myself as well.
